Online shopping has increased recently, and consumers are finding it convenient to find whatever they are looking for from any location in the world and for good prices.

Products of all kinds are listed in popular shopping websites such as Amazon. Once customers choose the products, they can pay online by credit card, the products can be shipped from anywhere and get to the customer within days. Shoppers also have the option to bid for an item in sites such as Ebay and even purchase cheap used goods.

Online shopping has become popular because of convenience, availability and low pricing. I often shop online for school books because I can find them at a cheaper price.

Computers are useful for showing information in ways that can't be done on paper. Scientists use computers to make virtual models of products before they are made, engineers use software to map out roads and buildings before they are built, in business this genre of software is used for making business presentations to show a new idea . Reading documents and books on the computer saves paper which is good for the environment and saves space since you can now store thousands of books on a storage device that is smaller than your finger. In business, presentations are made easier with presentation sosftware such as powerpoint or more sophisticated software such as Prezi, which helps to display information in an interesting way which grabs the public's attention.  

In my opinion computers are very useful for showing information in different ways. I use Powerpoint whenever I have to present something to my class, I can easily make graphs and diagrams using Excel and make  animations with Adobe software when I need to. Computers allow us to display information in new ways which can only be displayed in a monitor.

Business Software

Software is like the brain of the computer, it's the set of instructions that tells the computer what to do. Software has become indispensable in the business world since it speeds up tasks which are normally done on pen and paper.

Companies rely on expensive software that varies depending on the type of business and what product or service they provide. For example, the company Golder Engineering which is a Civil Design Firm has spent over $3'000 on a program called Civil 3D, it is a massive program used for technical design not available for the regular consumer but only to businesses, the employees of this company could not do their job without it since you cannot simulate 3 dimentional drawings on a piece of paper.

Another example of software aiding in business is accounting software. Accounting software is very important for accountants, since it makes the job of keeping records and calculating values much easier and effective than using pen and paper.

I think software is very important in business as I myself regularly use Excel to make calculations and store information for my Math and Accounting business classes. It helps me design a table so that I don't have to memorize formulas but it does the job just by imputing the numbers and calculating the data. Another way I use software for business purposes is Microsoft Word to create letters and written documents and use Microsoft Powerpoint to aid in presentations.

This is useful in the business world because of how fast and easy one can have access to information. This technology is very useful when trying to find information about a topic and is essential for market research.  According to an article in Ehow.com "Computer use in a business enhances productivity and provides results that might not otherwise be possible", I agree with this statement since without computers it would be impossible to exchange digital information with people from around the world. Information exchange is one of the most important features a computer can provide and its the reason why its hard to find a job that doesn't involve computers. Businesses now advertise and keep in contact with the customers through the web which makes it easier for businesses to sell and consumers to buy products from around the world. The way computers and the internet enable us to exchange digital information has changed our lives and the way we live.
